It’s one of the first questions people ask us. The honest answer, at least with us, is that you don’t have to choose: every La La Vows proposal package includes both a film and a photographer with 20 edited photos. But if you’re comparing options, here’s what each one actually gives you.
What photos give you
Photos are what you’ll frame, print and use to announce the engagement. A single still can hold the whole feeling of the moment: the look on their face, the ring, the two of you right after. They’re easy to share with family, and they last on a wall for years.
What video gives you
Video gives you everything a photo can’t: the walk up, the nervous pause, the reaction in real time, and the people around you. With sound, you also keep the words. Our Standard and Premium packages use hidden mics, so years from now you can hear exactly what you both said. With 2 cameras and a drone, we capture the moment from more than one angle, including the wide view of the whole scene.

How to decide what matters most
- Do you want to hear what you said? Choose a package with sound. Standard ($950) adds hidden mics.
- Will family and friends who weren’t there want to see it? Video lets them watch it happen, not just see the result.
- Do you want the full story? Premium ($1150) adds interviews before and after, a 3–4 minute film and a 1-minute highlight.
Our take
If you can only remember one part of your proposal on camera, make it video, because you can’t recreate the sound of their voice or the people cheering from a photo. The good news is you don’t have to pick: our Basic package at $850 already includes a short film and 20 edited photos.
